A delegation of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources is attending the 10th session of the Coordinating Committee on Hydrometrolgy and Monitoring of the Caspian Sea (CASPCOM) in Tehran, the Ministry told Trend.
The delegation includes the chief of the Hydro-Metrology Department of the Ministry, Zohrab Khalilov, his deputy Sahib Khalilov, and the chief of Meteorological Services, Fikrat Bayramov. A meeting of the Committee, which will focus on development of international cooperation in the sphere of hydro-metrology and environmental monitoring in the Caspian sea region, will be organized from 30 November to 1 December.
Participants in the session will discuss issues linked with according a text and signing of an agreement on Cooperation of the Caspian littoral countries in the sphere of hydro-metrology and environmental monitoring in the Caspian Sea region. The gathering will bring together representatives from hydro-metrological services of the Caspian littoral countries вЂ" Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan, as well as the World Metrological Organization and the Caspian Ecological Program. The session of the Committee will be held under the chairmanship of Alexander Bedritsk, the head of the Russian delegation.
The Coordinating Committee on Hydro-Metrology and Environmental Monitoring of Caspian Sea was established by hydro-metrology services of 5 Caspian littoral countries with support from the World Metrology Organization in 1994.
