Volume of essential products available in Iranian ports announced

There are currently 3.81 million tons of essential products in Iranian ports, Deputy Chairman of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran (PMO) Farhad Montaser Koohsari said, Trend reports citing PMO’s official website.

According to him, there are 2.7 million tons of essential products in the Imam Khomeini port, and about 420,000 tons in the Shahid Rajaee port of Iran.

Koohsari added that the main essential products in Iranian ports are corn (1.72 million tons), soybeans (444,000 tons), oilseeds (380,000 tons) and crude oil (450,000 tons).

The deputy chairman emphasized that more than 1 million tons of goods have been loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020).

"This is an increase of 53 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year," he said.

Koohsari noted that Iran's Anzali port can operate for loading and unloading of containers, non-containers and essential products.
