BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 14. Iran's non-oil exports to Tajikistan increased by 68.2 percent in value and 49.7 percent in volume in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

In 8 months, Iran exported about 195,000 tons of non-oil products worth approximately $157 million to Tajikistan, as stated in the data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Meanwhile, Iran's non-oil exports to Tajikistan stood at 130,000 tons worth around $93.1 million in the same period last Iranian year.

The main export items were petrochemical products, steel products, agricultural and food products, etc. to Tajikistan within the mentioned period.

During the 8th month (October 23 through November 21, 2023), 35,400 tons of non-oil products worth $23.4 million were exported from Iran to Tajikistan.

Overall, Iran’s non-oil exports reached $32.2 billion in value and more than 90 million tons in volume in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023).

Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the value of non-oil exports decreased by 1.6 percent, while the volume increased by 27 percent.

Iran’s non-oil exports do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
