Contracts on Development of Mineral Resources in Kazakhstan Must be Reviewed Thoroughly: Head of Counting Committee

Kazakhstan, Astana, 25 July/ Trend , corr K. Konirova/ The contracts signed on the development of mineral resources in Kazakhstan so far must be reviewed thoroughly, Omarkhan Oksikbayev, said chairman of the Counting Committee for Control over Fulfillment of Budget of Kazakhstan, special reporter of Trend in Astana said.

"All contracts on the development of mineral resources must be reviewed. It is my absolute position. I think that we, that is, our republic has fulfilled all obligations on its part," Oksikbayev said to media during a break of the International Conference Urgent Problems in Law Enforcement Practice on Taxation of Investors.

"Today it is obvious that the oil prices reached $140 for a barrel, while it was $7 a barrel when we signed a contract on Tangiz field. There are world of differences. Why not to review all contracts once again?" said chairman of Counting Committee.

According to Oksikbayev, today investors could take back all investments they put in Kazakhstan.

"The contracts should be reviewed and the investors must be made to work in line with the contracts which they signed," Oksikbayev said.
