President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has signed a decree to establish a commission to control harvesting of grain crops, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State Agency.
The decree states that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan must organize the necessary maintenance of grain harvesters, as well as ensure their continuous operation.
The ministry is allowed to use vehicles of other ministries and industry departments on the basis of a contract to transport wheat to reception points, warehouses and elevators. Turkmenawtoulaglary Agency should ensure timely transportation of the harvested wheat crop from the fields to reception points, warehouses and elevators, as well as efficient operation of vehicles.
Agriculture is one of the most important branches of Turkmenistan's economy. The main types of agricultural crops are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable and fruit crops.
