Non-oil exports of Iran's South Khorasan Province grow

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 7. The export of non-oil products from South Khorasan Province, located in northeastern Iran, increased by 43 percent in value and 20 percent in weight during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023), director general of the Customs Administration of Iran's South Khorasan Province Mohammad Kouhgerd told reporters, Trend reports.

According to him, during the past six months, South Khorasan Province has sent 1.25 million tons of non-oil products worth a whopping $393 million out the door.

Kouhgerd added that ceramics, cement, bitumen, chicken eggs, car tires, and many others were mainly exported from the province during the six months. The products were exported mainly to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The official noted that 289,000 tons of products worth $647 million were exported from other provinces of Iran through the customs of South Khorasan province. The export of products increased by 49 percent in value and 36 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.

To note, Iran exported 70 million tons of non-oil products worth $25.8 billion during the six months. Exports of products increased by 6.5 percent in value and 3.5 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
