Ahmadinejad elected Iranian president

The Interior Minister stated that the results of votes of 39,120,000 people are that 85 percent of eligible people participated in the elections, Iranian Interior Minister Sadig Mahsouli stated on direct ether, IRINN TV channel reported.

According to the Minister, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad gained 62.63 percent of votes, Mohsun Rezaee - 1.73 percent, Mehdi Karroubi - 0.85 percent, Mir Hussein Mousavi 33.75 percent.

Presidential elections took place in Iran on June 12. The presidential elections in Iran are held every four years. Candidates may participate in the electoral process after the approval of the Supervisory Board. A person elected as president, receives the status after the approval of the supreme spiritual leader. President is the second official after the supreme spiritual leader. President controls the entire executive department that determines external and internal policy.

According to Iran's CEC report, 46.2 million people had the right to vote in this presidential election.
