Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze is no longer a citizen of Russia, deputy foreign minister of Georgia David Jalagania said to a briefing.
He said that on June 23 Russian President approved Vashadze's request to withdraw from the Russian citizenship.
"This decision was made after long discussions with the Russian side, and we can now say that Vashadze is only a citizen of Georgia," he said.
Georgian Foreign Minister appealed to the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev on Nov. 3, 2009, requesting withdrawal from Russian citizenship, which he received while living in Moscow in 1990.
