Volume of cargo loaded/unloaded in Iran’s Khorramshahr port soars

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshar port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by about 0.57 percent in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2021), compared to the 6th month (August 23 through September 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 306,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during the seventh month. Of this, about 284,000 tons were loaded and 22,300 tons were unloaded.

“About 283,000 tons of cargo were exported and 21,800 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month,” the statistics said.

Also, 349 tons of cargo were unloaded in this port for transit, while 853 tons of cargo were loaded and 139 tons were unloaded for other purposes in the same time period.

According to the statistics, 4,940 tons of essential products, 12,700 tons of metal products, 264,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 1,760 tons of equipment, were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 7th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 524 tons of chemicals, 4,590 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 22 tons of small and assorted goods, 17,400 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the seventh month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.6 million tons were loaded and 6.36 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 12.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
