Negotiations on Armenia’s accession to Customs Union starts in November

Contents of international agreements shouldn't be published until they are initialled, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said during the government hour in Armenia's National Assembly answering the question of the head of parliament faction of the opposition Heritage Party Ruben Hakobyan about the Association Agreement with the EU and agreement on joining the Customs Union, Panorama.am agency reported.

"There are cases when agreements are not published after signing," Armenian Foreign Minister stressed.

Nalbandian said there is no secret in the negotiations, adding that currently there is no document concerning the Customs Union.

Armenian Foreign Minister also said that a summit with participation of member states of the Customs Union will be held in the second half of October and only after this, negotiations will begin in early November.

According to Nalbandian, a package of documents will be prepared as a result of the negotiations which will be submitted to the parliament for ratification.

Last week Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan declared the country's decision to join the Customs Union and take the necessary practical steps in this direction and later to participate in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has supported the decision and expressed Russia's readiness to fully contribute to the process.
