Georgia increased trade turnover with EU countries in 2011.
In 2011 the trade turnover with EU countries amounted to $2.477 million, or 41 percent more than the previous year, the Georgian Statistics agency told Trend.
Exports amounted to 424 million (46 percent more) and import - 2.053 million (40 percent more).
The share of the EU countries in Georgia's foreign trade turnover amounted to 27 percent, including exports - 19 percent, imports - 29 percent. In 2010, these figures were 26, 18 and 28 percent respectively.
About 33 percent of the trade deficit falls to the EU countries.
