On August 27-28, Tallinn hosted the third session of the Kazakh-Estonian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry told Trend on Wednesday.
The Kazakh side was headed by Minister of Transport and Communications Askar Zhumagaliyev, Estonian - Economy and Communications Minister Juhan Parts.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues of cooperation, in particular in areas such as transport and transit, information technology, agriculture, environment, education, science, culture, public health, statistics.
The participants expressed confidence that the effective work of the intergovernmental commission will contribute to deepening cooperation between the two countries in trade and economy in accordance with the agreements at the highest level reached during the state visit to Estonia of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in April 2011.
Following the meeting, a protocol was signed, reflecting the promising areas of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
During the visit, Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan met with
Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip, during which they discussed the current state and future directions of bilateral cooperation, as well as the organization of the forthcoming visit of the Estonian Prime Minister to Kazakhstan.
