The Mauritanian president's visit to Azerbaijan will give impetus to the development of relations between legislative bodies. It will create conditions for the formation of friendship groups in the parliaments of both countries, First Vice-Speaker Ziyafet Askerov said during a meeting with President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz in Baku.

The Mauritanian president's visit to Azerbaijan will give impetus to the development of relations between legislative bodies. It will create conditions for the formation of friendship groups in the parliaments of both countries, First Vice-Speaker Ziyafet Askerov said during a meeting with President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz in Baku.

Mauritanian president Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz is on an official visit in Azerbaijan. He met with First Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafet Askerov.

Before the meeting the Mauritanian president examined the main conference room of the Azerbaijani Parliament, acquainted with the working conditions.

Then, he acquainted with the museum of Heydar Aliyev. The Mauritanian president wrote warm wishes in the book of memory.

Ziyafet Askerov stressed good relations between the two countries within the United Nations (UN) and the Organization of Islamic Conference. He thanked Mauritania for its continued support for the just position of Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Askerov gave detailed information that UN Security Council's four resolutions have not been fulfilled by Armenia yet and occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory.

Askerov informed the Mauritanian President that Azerbaijan wants to act as a hosting country at the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Conference member-countries by 2014.

He asked the guest to support the candidacy of our country. It was reported that Azerbaijan intends to present its candidature for a non-permanent member of UN Security Council in 2012-2013. It also needs the support of friendly countries.

The Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz has assured all that the official visit to Azerbaijan will make a huge contribution to even greater development of the relations between the two countries. He said that he considers it reasonable to expand inter-parliamentary relations and form friendship groups in the parliaments of both countries.
