BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 19. Azerbaijan is setting aside a hefty sum of 1.5 million manat ($882.3 million) for the big overhaul of the Davudlu-Binaler-Guvekand-Amirarkh-Garadeyin-Eymur-Arabsheki-Aghjagovak highway, which is going to be the lifeline connecting eight settlements, home to about 9,000 people, ensuring they can hit the road without a hitch, Trend reports.
Funds were specified in subparagraph 1.19.21 of the "Distribution of Funds for State-Funded Investments (Investment Expenses) in the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025." This allocation, approved by Order No. 445 of the President of Azerbaijan on January 10, 2025, is directed to the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads.
The allocated funds, as outlined in the "State Budget for 2025" under the section for capital investments, will initially be directed to the Azerbaijan Automobile Roads State Agency.
Under the decree, the Ministry of Finance will ensure the provision of financing for this project, while the Ministry of Economy will allocate necessary funds in the 2026 state budget for the continuation of the road repairs. The Cabinet of Ministers is responsible for resolving issues arising from the decree.
