Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Babayeva / The spread of foot-and-mouth disease in Great Britain does not present a threat to Azerbaijan, said the Press Secretary of the State Veterinary Service of the Agriculture Ministry of Azerbaijan, Yolchu Khanveli, on 7 August.
According to him, Azerbaijan does not purchase meat or meat products from Great Britain. "We have never purchased meat from Great Britain and therefore the disease does not impose any threat in the territory of Azerbaijan," Khanveli said.
Currently Azerbaijan has imposed a ban on the import of pork from Georgia due to the spread of the African plague in the Country.
