Azerbaijan, Barda /corr. Trend Sh.Jaliloglu / The Agriculture Ministry of Azerbaijan held a zonal meeting with regards to the development of grain-growing. Giving a speech at the meeting, the Deputy Agriculture Minister, Bahram Aliyev, said that subsidies to the amount of AZN 80mln have been allocated to the farmers for the development of agriculture. Of this amount, AZN 56mln is directed towards ensuring fuel demands and AZN 24mln for lucubrating oil and nitric fertilizers.
For an area of 1 ha the amount of AZN 40 will be transferred to the bank account of the farmers to pay for fuel and AZN 26 towards the purchase of fertilizer. In addition, each farmer will receive 300kg of nitric fertilizers free of charge. The program has already been realized in 44 regions of Azerbaijan and other regions should expect the same by the end of the week.
Additionally, the farmers will be issued quality seeds (Class Er1 AND Er2). The Agriculture Ministry has registered 118 private organizations to provide the farmers with the necessary seeds. The farmers will receive certified grain seeds from private and State organizations.
During the meeting, the farmers expressed their dissatisfaction at the delay of subsidies offered by the State.
