DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 24. Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has invited Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to visit Tajikistan at his convenience, Trend reports.
The invitation was extended during a meeting between the two leaders on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York.
During their discussions, Rahmon and Pezeshkian explored ways to enhance cooperation in priority sectors, including trade, scientific and educational exchanges, and cultural-humanitarian interactions.
To ensure the effective implementation of their plans, they recognized the importance of a Long-Term Program for Trade and Economic Cooperation between the two countries until 2030, as well as practical collaboration through the Joint Intergovernmental Commission and the Joint Investment Committee.
On September 22, Rahmon left for New York to participate in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi visited Tajikistan in November 2023. Following those talks, a new package of documents was signed to bolster bilateral cooperation across various fields and strengthen the legal foundation of relations between the two countries.
