Uzbekistan boosts import of grain and legumes from Turkey

The value of export of grain and legumes from Turkey to Uzbekistan increased by 25.09 percent from January through October 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, having made up $11.4 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.

In October 2020, Turkey’s export of grain and legumes to Uzbekistan grew by 41.49 percent compared to October 2019, amounting to $1.73 million.

Exports of grain and legumes to the world markets from Turkey increased by 4.4 percent from January through October 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, totaling over $5.9 billion.

At the same time, Turkish export of grain and legumes made up 4.4 percent of the country's total export for the reporting period.

In October 2020, Turkey exported grain and legumes worth $671 million to the global markets, which is 3.8 percent less compared to the same month of 2019, the ministry said.

Turkey’s export of grain and legumes in October 2020 made up 3.9 percent of the country's total export.

Over the past 12 months (from October 2019 through October 2020), Turkey exported grain and legumes worth $7.7 billion, the ministry said.
