As a result of providing repair works on the Astara-Kazimagomed main gas pipeline, the transportation of gas from Azerbaijan to Iran will be suspended form July 2, a report released by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said on Tuesday.
"During the period of repairs on the gas pipeline, the gas supply of the Astara modular power station will also be suspended from July 3 to July 4," the report said.
Azerbaijan supplies gas to Iran within the framework of swap operations in order to provide the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with gas.
