The ban on providing secondary schools with weapons prevents holding qualitative lessons on basic military training in Azerbaijan, Deputy Education Minister Elmar Gasimov said at the public debate on the development of the State Program "Azerbaijani youth in 2011-2015".

"It is banned to provide schools with weapons for practice in accordance with the Defense Ministry's special order," he said. "The ban must be lifted. Schools must be provided with weapons. The Defense Ministry must also participate in preparing the state program "Azerbaijani youth in 2011-2015". This order must be abolished."

The Azerbaijani President signed a decree on the development of the State Program "Azerbaijani youth in 2011-2015".

President Aliyev stressed that the program paid special attention to military training during his meeting with a group of young people who have attained success in various fields and representatives of the student organizations on April 22.
