Fire in the Iranian Reserve Karkha, located near the Shush city, damaged about 30 hectares of forest, the official website of the Iranian television reported.
The fire started yesterday at about 4:00 and extinguished at about 20:00. Some 10 hectares of the Karkha reserve was fully destroyed and 20 hectares underwent a minor damage.
The firefighting brigade of the Shush, Dezful and Shavur cities participated in extinguishing the fire. Strong winds and dry weather caused the rapid spread of flame. The firefighters do not rule out the possibility of renewing the fire and continue to examine the territory.
The area of the Karkha located in the Khuzestan province is 500 hectares.
