Azerbaijan, Baku, 27 August / Trend corr. L.Abdulazimova / Azerbaijan intends to take an active part in restoration of Afghanistan. Under the Azerbaijani President's instruction, Araz Azimov, the Deputy Foreign Minister, is in Kabul to study problems and needs of Afghanistan, so that Azerbaijan could take an active part in removal of definite difficulties of this country, Ibrahim Khalilov, the Azerbaijani temporal Charge D'affaires in Afghanistan, told Trend from Kabul on 27 August.
During the visit, Azimov met with Rengin Dadfred Spanta, the Afghan Foreign Minister, Zerar Ahmed Mogbel, the Interior Minister, Ibrahim Adel, the Culture and Industry Minister, and Mohammad Jalil Shams, the Economy Minister. The meetings focused on expansion of cooperation between foreign ministers of both countries, as well as development of relations in economy and law, the diplomat said.
The deputy minister met with the Azerbaijani peacekeepers in Afghanistan, as well. Azerbaijan sent 50 servicemen to the country with the peacekeeping mission.
