The Azerbaijani Intelligentsia Union (AIU) criticized some opposition for not attending the Karabakh Forum.

"The fact that the opposition was unable to unify around the Karabakh Forum is connected with insatiability ambitions and gaining political dividends. The political power that is not solidary in the Karabakh tragedy does not have political problems, but medical. Everybody must be unified in the Karabakh issue," Chairman of the Union Eldaniz Guliyev told Trend on May 15.

On May 14, the Union for Democracy, which unites the Classical Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, National Democratic, Azadlig, Great Azerbaijan and Popular Party held the Karabakh Forum to discuss the current situation that has arisen around the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.

The parties of the Movement for Karabakh and Republic, including the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Citizen and Development Party, Liberal Party, Democratic Party, Musavat Party and Umid Party, as well as some public organizations have refused to participate in this forum.

Guliyev said the main disease of the opposition leaders is that they think that they are superior to each other. "Nobody and never is allowed to be superior to each other. This can be in only one case - when you bend to lift people. The opposition leaders do not understand that they can rise by not knocking down anybody, but by raising somebody," he said.

Guliyev said forums held on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will not solve the problems. "The forum can achieve only solidarity during solution of the problem. At the same time, the forums should support the policies pursued by the authorities regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh," Guliyev said.
