The 75th jubilee of Farman Suleymanov, Russian oil geologist and Corresponding Member of Russian Academy of Sciences, is celebrated in Moscow,Trendreports. Salmanov is considered the discoverer of oil and gas in Siberia.
In his time Salmanov discovered more than 130 fields in Western Siberia, which are now Russias strategic oil&gas reserve. Among these fields are Surgut, Ust-Balik, Megion, Pravdinskoye and other large formations.
The jubilee was celebrated in President-hotel. It started from scientific-practical conference devoted to Russias fuel and energy complex.
The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent his congratulations to the scientist alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin.
