Azerbaijan, Baku, 22 August / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / The recent decree issued by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to render additional assistance to agricultural producers to provide them with grain seeds, fertilizing and cattle will promote dynamic development in the agrarian sphere," Ismat Abasov, Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister, said at the news-conference on 22 August.
"It is an historical document, which will enable to solve many problems," the Minister said.
Under the President decree, some AZN 25mln will be allocated from the reserve fund for Agrolizing OJSC. The allocated money is expected to cover 50% cost of grain seeds and 70% cost of fertilizer for grain producers.
According to Abasov, the order from the Cabinet of Ministers is expected is made regarding the allocated funds. According to the Minister, about AZN 5mln will be directed to purchase grain seeds, AZN 10mln - to purchase fertilizer for grain producers, AZN 3mln to import cattle, AZN 6.5mln - to create logistic markets for fertilizers and AZN 500,000 - to keep cattle to give to farmers.
The works under the decree are expected to be carried out in 2008-2009.
Within a month, the Cabinet of Ministers is in charge of preparing and presenting the proposals to the President to bring normative-legal acts into conformity with this order. The Cabinet of Ministers must, within a month, approve the regulations of sale of the mineral fertilizers and highly productive seeds of wheat, imported due to Public funds, on preferential terms and also transfer of livestock to the agricultural producers via the leasing (with the payment of 50% of cost).
