The Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan has set the new tariffs for electricity consumption, to be used from Oct. 1, Uzbekenergo State Joint-Stock Company said Sept. 16.
In particular, the cost of one kilowatt hour of electricity supplied to the population will increase by 8 percent from current 155 soums up to 167.4 soums, but in the houses equipped with electric stoves - from 72.15 soums to 83.4 soums.
Earlier, the electricity prices increased in May 2015. Then the cost of one kilowatt hour of electricity increased by 7.4 percent.
It was previously reported that cold water tariffs will increase by 8 percent, while central heating and hot water tariffs by 5.2 percent from October 1.
The official exchange rate is 2610.89 soums/$ 1 Sept. 16.
