Azerbaijan, Baku, 10 November/ Trend / SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) exports about 1.5mln cu m of gas to Georgia a day, a source in the government said.
SOACR produces gas from fields independently.
SOCAR has signed gas supply contract with Georgia. SOCAR plans to deliver over 600mln cu m of gas to Georgia in 2008.
In 2007, the volume of gas supply to Georgia totaled to 1.2mln and 1.3mln cu m a day. Azerbaijan supplied gas at $120 for 1,000 cu m. The cost of gas exported to Georgia was expected to rise in 2009. But the current prices are not divulged.
