The Russia company LUKOIL has finished installing an offshore platform for the drilling, preparation and transportation of oil and gas at an offshore field in Russia's 'Yuri Korchagin' sector of the Caspian Sea, information posted on LUKOIL's official website said.
The displacement for the azimuth was plus 0.2 degrees, the horizontal displacement was plus 0,2 meters, and the careen was 0 degrees. Such precision for installation is high for an offshore structure of 25,000 tons.
A 74.2 meter-bridge connecting two marine ice-resistant stationary platforms in a single complex was also installed in the field.
Earlier, the first offshore platform with residential, public and medical facilities, as well as a helipad and rescue facilities, had also been installed.
Putting the 'Yuri Korchagin' field into exploitation is scheduled for December 2009.
The deposit is located 180 kilometers from Astrakhan, and 240 kilometers from Makhachkala.
The sea depth in the deposit area is 11-13 meters. The deposit reserves are estimated at 570 million barrels of oil equivalent. The maximum level of oil and gas condensate production is 2.3 million tons per year and 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
The crane vessel 'Azerbaijan' of the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet (part of SOCAR) participated in the process of installing a platform at one stage, SOCAR said.
