Global natural gas consumption sees decrease y-o-y

The world’s natural gas consumption fell from 3.978 trillion cubic meters in 2019 to 3.864 trillion cubic meters in 2020, showing a 2.86 percent decrease year-on-year, Trend reports with reference to the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).

The dynamics of world’s natural gas consumption is as follows: 3,309 trillion cubic meters in 2011, 3.378 trillion cubic meters in 2012, 3.423 trillion cubic meters in 2013, 3.455 trillion cubic meters in 2014, 3.521 trillion cubic meters in 2015, 3.571 trillion cubic meters in 2016, 3,691 trillion cubic meters in 2017 and 3.894 trillion cubic meters in 2018.

The world’s natural gas production dropped from 4.780 trillion cubic meters in 2019 to 4.683 trillion cubic meters in 2020, showing a 2 percent decrease year-on-year.

The dynamics of world’s natural gas output is as follows: 4.100 trillion cubic meters in 2011, 4.173 trillion cubic meters in 2012, 4.235 trillion cubic meters in 2013, 4.309 trillion cubic meters in 2014, 4.369 trillion cubic meters in 2015, 4.394 trillion cubic meters in 2016, 4.492 trillion cubic meters in 2017 and 4.689 trillion cubic meters in 2018.
