BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13. Shah Deniz giant gas and condensate field in Azerbaijan produced 24.8 billion cubic meters of gas from January through November 2023, as compared to 23 billion cubic meters in the same period in 2022, Trend reports with reference to the country’s energy ministry.
As such, Shah Deniz field’s production rose by 4.35 percent year-on-year.
Azerbaijan's overall gas production for the same period reached 44 billion cubic meters, with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) contributing 7.7 billion cubic meters to the total.
This signifies a 3.6 percent increase in the country's gas output compared to the previous year, amounting to a growth of 1.5 billion cubic meters.
The existing Shah Deniz facilities’ production capacity is currently about 74 million standard cubic metres of gas per day or approximately 27 billion standard cubic meters per year.
Stakes in Shah Deniz: bp (operator - 29.99 percent), SGC (21.02 percent), LUKOIL (19.99 percent), TPAO (19 percent) and NICO (10 percent).
