Azerbaijan carried out cargo transportation via vehicles worth $2.3 billion from January through April 2020, which is 2.7 percent more than in the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing a report of the country’s State Customs Committee (SCC).
In the reporting period, the volume of cargo transported by road amounted to 1.1 million tons, which is 0.6 percent less than in the same period of 2019.
The volume of export cargo transportation by road decreased by 14.9 percent and made up 362,755 tons, amounting to $376.3 million (an increase of slightly over 0.2 percent).
The volume of imports by road for the reporting period amounted to 768,375 tons (an increase of 7.4 percent), amounting to over $1.9 billion (an increase of 3.3 percent).
In general, during the reporting period, Azerbaijan’s trade turnover amounted to $9.6 billion, of which exports - $6.3 billion, imports - more than $3.3 billion.
