Kazakhstan's Air Astana increases passenger traffic for 9M2023

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 15. The total number of passengers carried by Kazakhstan's group of companies, Air Astana, amounted to 6 million with an average load factor of 84 percent from January through September 2023, which is 600,000 (83 percent) more than the same period in 2022, Trend reports.

According to the operating indicators of the group of companies for 9M2023, flights to key destinations such as the UK, Türkiye, India, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Georgia, and the countries of the Persian Gulf have increased as part of the spring/summer flight schedule. The company also resumed flights to China.

At the same time, a new route has been added to the directions: to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

In addition, during the above period, the airline increased its aircraft fleet to 49 units.

Meanwhile, over 11 million passengers were transported by air in Kazakhstan from January through October 2023.

Thus, 11,046,430 passengers were transported, a 23 percent increase over the same period in 2022 (8,931,576).

Simultaneously, 3,511,295 individuals were transferred to international locations. This statistic is 34 percent higher than the same period in 2022 (2,623,025).

Furthermore, 7,535,135 people were transported on internal lines, which is 19 percent more than in the first ten months of 2022 (6,308,551).
