ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 5. inDrive is interested in cooperation with Kazakhstan in the field of intellectual industry development, Trend reports.
This was stated during a meeting between the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, and the founder and CEO of inDrive, the global platform for transport and urban services, Arsen Tomsky.
In particular, inDrive proposed opening in Kazakhstan a university, inVision U, with 400 places for training qualified specialists in the areas of IT, education, science, art, etc.
In addition, the company plans to implement a number of environmental initiatives to improve air quality in large cities. The first project will be implemented in Almaty. Bektenov instructed the relevant government agencies to assist the public project.
In turn, Bektenov noted that Kazakhstan aims to increase the share of digital technologies in the structure of the economy and further increase the export of IT services.
"We welcome the presence of large IT companies in our market," he noted.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of ensuring legality and transparency of labor processes and road safety.
The inDrive service is represented in 750 cities in 46 countries. In 2021, the company achieved the status of a “unicorn” (a startup company valued at over $1 billion). In 2022, the company's office was relocated to Almaty. Currently, about 800 people work in the Kazakhstan office of inDrive.
