The Iran National Library and Archive (INLA) is planning to launch several sessions in honor of Russian authors in its program for next year.
Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Aleksejevits Avdejev recently visited Tehran and held talks with INLA director Ali-Akbar Ash'ari where they agreed to hold the honoring sessions, Tehran Times reported.
The first session is due to focus on author of "War and Peace" Leo Tolstoy in collaboration with the INLA, Russian Culture Ministry and Russian Embassy in Tehran, INLA official Hamed Yari told the Persian service of ISNA on Sunday, Tabnak reported.
Minister Avdejev was accompanied by Mikhail Borisovich Piotrovsky, director of the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg and Alexander Sedov, director of the State museum of Oriental Art in Moscow.
Russian cultural officials also agreed to submit a list of Persian manuscripts preserved in Russian museums to the National Library along with a collection of written sources in the Russian language.
