Tehran and Germany are examining the ground for cooperation in training workforce in Iran.

Iran’s Deputy Minister of Labor Mohammad Amin Sazgarnejad met Volker Rieke, acting director of European and international cooperation at Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research, to discuss the topic, Mehr news agency reported Aug. 17.

Germany used to cooperate with Iran in the field of workforce training before sanctions isolated Iran.

During the meeting, Sazgarnejad said Iran is interested in resuming the cooperation.

“We are looking forward to Germany to help Iran regarding job standards, educational standards, technical proficiency, as well as training instructors,” he said.

Reike for his part stressed the need to aim at sustainable development in programming job skills training.

The two sides in the meeting decided that in the near future they will hold a joint workshop on workforce training.
