Iran’s Statistical Center has published a quarterly report about employment situation in the country, which covers the autumn of 2017.
According to the report, the unemployment rate among Iranians aged over 10 in the mentioned period was 11.9 percent, 0.2 percent more compared to summer of 2017.
The rate indicates a fall by 0.4 percent while compared to autumn 2016.
All Iranians aged over 10 years, who worked at least one hour a week, or temporary left their work during the survey week, were included as "employed labor force" in the report.
The country's labor force participation rate stood at 40.1 percent (0.9 percent less than summer), registering a 1.2 percent increase year-on-year.
The participation rate is the percentage of working-age persons in an economy who are employed or unemployed but looking for a job.
The report indicates that almost half of Iran’s labor force or 50.1 percent was employed in the service sector.
Meanwhile about 32.6 percent of the country's labor force was employed in the industry sector and 17.2 percent in the agriculture sector.
The report unveils that about 25 percent of Iranians aged 15-29 years were unemployed in the period, 1.4 percent less compared to the preceding season.
However the rate is 0.6 percent more compared to autumn 2016.
Management and Planning Organization of Iran through its latest report has forecasted an unemployment rate of 12.1 percent over the next fiscal year (starting March 20).
