Georgia shares data on potato exports to Central Asia

Georgia exported 891 tons of potatoes worth $128,590 to Central Asia from January through September 2021, Trend reports, citing National Statistics Office (Geostat).

Although, Turkmenistan did not import potatoes from Georgia in 2020, potato exports to the country over the reporting period of 2021 amounted to $125,360 (871 tons).

Turkmenistan is followed by Kazakhstan with 204 tons of imported potatoes from Georgia worth $27,700 over first 9 months of 2021.

Meanwhile, Georgia exported 20 tons of potatoes to Kazakhstan worth $3,230 in the second quarter of 2020.

Georgian total potato exports from January through September 2021 amounted to $10.3 million (30,000 tons), which is an increase of 102 percent, compared to $917,400 worth of potatoes (3,011 tons) in the same period of 2020.
