Azerbaijani Watchdogs Positively Assess Presidential Elections in   Russia

Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 March / Trend corr S. Ilhamgizi/ Representatives of the Central Election Committee (CEC) of Azerbaijan did not register any serious violations during the presidential elections in Russia, the head of the Department for International Relations at CEC Rovzat Gasimov told Trend on 2 March.

According to Gasimov, since early morning the Azerbaijani watchdogs have been at election stations. The elections are on going normally. Even the snow in Moscow did not affect the attendance.

The five Azerbaijani watchdogs are led by the CEC Chair Mazahir Panahov.

Four candidates are running for the presidential position in Russia - the First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitriy Medvedev, the leader of the Liberal and Democratic Party Vladimir Zhirinovski, the head of the Communist Party Gennadiy Zuganov, and the leader of the Democratic Party Andrey Bogdanov.
