Head of Russian Red Cross Society (RRCS) said on Wednesday that it is ready for wide-scale cooperation with Iranˈs Red Crescent Society (IRCS), IRNA reported.
Talking to IRNA, Raisa Lukutsova said that in addition to the two countriesˈ good neighborly ties, their common goals and challenges will bring them closer to each other.
Personnel education, providing relief in times of disaster, extending aid for foreign refugees are among the areas of cooperation between the Russian Red Cross Society and Iranˈs Red Crescent Society, she said.
Referring to her meeting with head of Iran Red Crescent Society Mohammad Farhadi, she termed the visit as very significant and both sides expressed their interest to promote practical cooperation.
Signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two humanitarian agencies is a major step to develop cooperation in the field of relief operation, Lukutsova said, adding that the deal laid legal foundation for cooperation.
She hoped that cooperation between Russian Red Cross Society and Iranˈs Red Crescent Society will pave the way for boosting the two countriesˈ bilateral ties.
