Abnormally hot weather will continue this week in Azerbaijan, the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry's National Hydrometeorological Department director Umeyra Tagiyeva told Trend.
"In the first half of this week the air temperature will be above the norm for December. On the day the temperature will rise 15-17 degrees in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, while the lowland regions can expect a 13-18 degrees temperature rise. In the mountains we could see it climb from 8-10 degrees," Tagiyeva said.
According to her, a predominantly north-easterly wind will blow on Dec. 21, so short rains are expected in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula and in the eastern part of the country on Dec.22.
