During its naval exercises in the Persian Gulf, Iran's navy issued a serious warning to a foreign helicopter, Fars News Agency reports.
Seyyed Mahmoud Mousavi , deputy director of Naval Operations, said another country's helicopter tried to get close to the Velayat 90 naval exercises area. The pilot ignored first two warnings, but left after a third serious warning.
International law prohibits foreign countries from entering military exercise areas, and this act is illegal, said Admiral Mousavi.
Iran's Navy has launched a massive 10-day naval exercise codenamed "Velayat 90" which covers an area stretching from the east of the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Aden, Press TV reported earlier.
