The U.S. First Deputy Secretary of State William Burns will arrive in Baku next week, U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza told journalists on Saturday.
In September 2011, Burns met in the margins of the UN General Assembly with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
According to Bryza, Burns visit to Baku will focus on democracy and human rights.
Bryza did not specify the visit's details and subject of Burns's upcoming negotiations in Baku.
This is Burn's second visit to Azerbaijan . Earlier, he visited Baku in February 2010.
