Relations between Azerbaijani and Iranian Frontier-Guards Improve Any Time: Head of Iranian Border Service

Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 August / Trend / Holding joint meetings between Iran and Azerbaijan even more improves the relations between the frontier-guards of the two countries, the Head of the Border Service of Iran, Gasim Rzayi, said on 6 August.IRNA reports that Rzayi noted that a good basis for the joint collaboration was created between Iran and Azerbaijan, and he stated that he hopes for even larger expansion of the existing relations.According to him, there are no serious problems on the borders of Iran and Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the Head of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, General Elchin Huseynov, named the frontier-guards the guarantees of peace. "From our point of view, the frontier-guards are first of all the guarantee of peace, the secondly - guards of the country", Huseynov said.He stated that in the near future, the frontier-guards of the two countries will again meet on the other side of border.

"The meeting of the frontier-guards of the two states is aimed at improving the entrance-departure of their citizens, preventing border disturbances, smuggling and trade in the narcotic drugs between the two countries," added Huseynov.

The fourth joint meeting of the heads of the border services of Azerbaijan and Iran takes place in the Iranian city of Parsabad. Besides the heads of state border services, the meeting is attended by the chiefs of the Azerbaijani customs checkpoints Nakhchivan, Jabrail, Bilasuvar, Lankaran and Astara, and also the chiefs of the Iranian customs checkpoints of Poldasht, Julfa], Khudafarin, Aslanduz, Mugan and Astara.
