BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 27. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on additional measures to improve management in the spheres of antimonopoly control and supervision of the consumer market, Trend reports.
According to the decree, the State Agency for Antimonopoly Control and Supervision of Consumer Market (hereinafter - the Agency) under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan will be established on the basis of the State Service for Antimonopoly Control and Supervision of Consumer Market under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan (hereinafter - the Service).
To establish that:
The Agency is a central executive authority exercising state supervision and regulation in the areas of antimonopoly regulation, unfair competition, state procurement, advertising (except for advertising in open space), standardization, metrology, technical regulation, conformity assessment, accreditation, quality management, consumer protection, and consumer market supervision;
Until the approval of the statute, structure, and limit of the number of employees, the Agency shall act with the application of the current statute, structure, limit of the number of employees, official salaries, and labor remuneration system of the Service;
The regional subdivisions and subordinate institutions of the Service, which are not part of its structure, continue their activities as regional subdivisions of the Agency and subordinate institutions, which are not part of its structure, on the basis of the current regulations (charters) until the approval of the charter and structure of the Agency.
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan:
Within two months, must prepare and submit to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan draft regulations and proposals on the structure and number of employees of the Agency;
To prepare and submit to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan proposals on harmonization of normative legal acts related to the establishment of the Agency within three months;
To ensure the transfer of the state property on the balance of the Service to the balance of the Agency;
To take measures to ensure allocation to the Agency of the remaining part of the funding envisaged for the Service following the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 2424 dated December 26, 2023, on several issues related to the application of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 1028-VIQ dated December 5, 2023, “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2024”.
Resolve other issues arising from this decree.
