An Azerbaijani court sentenced a Russian citizen, accused of willful homicide, to 15-year imprisonment.
On Sept. 11, the Serious Crime Court issued verdicts on Igor Bazhilevsky and Anar Nuriyev.
The court sentenced Nuriyev to 13-year and 6-month imprisonment, and the Russian citizen, Bazhilevsky - to 15-year.
The abovementioned persons are charged under the Article 120.2.4 (deliberate murder, committed with extreme cruelty or dangerous method) and 120.2.1 (deliberate murder, committed by a group of individuals, group of persons by prior conspiracy, an organized group or criminal association) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
The investigation revealed that Alexander Golikov, whose body was discovered in the Sabunchi District on Dec. 18 in, was killed by Igor Bazhilevsky by striking with a blunt object on his head.
The investigation revealed that the day before Golikov's murder, Bazhilevsky inflicted fatal stab wounds on Rafiq Aliyev, the owner of the apartment, which rented Bazhilevsky in the Khatai District. Moreover, it was revealed that the crime was committed by two men.
Bazhilevsky confessed that he committed the murder, together with the resident of the Sabunchu District, Anar Nuriyev.
Nuriyev was involved into a crime responsibility due to Bazhilevsky's testimony. Both murders were committed because of the money.
