Azerbaijan, Baku, July 27 /Trend, K.Zarbaliyeva/

About 450 religious communities have passed state registration at the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, the press-service of the committee said.

July 27 at the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, a group of chairmen of the religious communities were awarded certificates of registration and discharge from the state registry of religious entities, the report said.
Addressing the meeting, the Committee chairman Hidayat Orujov said that the Azerbaijani government and the public take an irreconcilable position against external influences that could break religious stability in the country.

From this point of view, community leaders must within their powers demonstrate a more active position in addressing external interference and increase the level of leadership of religious communities, said Orujov.

The Committee chairman said that he considers unacceptable the politicization of religion and religious communities, and highlighted the importance of preventing such attempts.
According to Orujov, additions and changes to the Law on Religious Freedom promote the re-registration of religious communities operating in the country, increase their activities and regulate them at an even higher level, and also serve to ensure freedom of conscience of citizens.
First deputy head of the Caucasus Muslims Department Mufti Salman Musaev mentioned the importance of the functioning of religious communities in accordance with their charters, as well as demonstrating irreconcilable positions on influences from outside.
