BAKU, Azerbaijan, Mar. 16
Trend:
I am very happy to participate in the 27th Azerbaijan Championship in Rhythmic Gymnastics, Govhar Ibrahimova told Trend.
“It is very valuable for me to be here today, this is a great chance, which I am incredibly happy about. The preparations for the competition were fruitful, I trained a lot, and this helped me cope with my anxiety. Our coach is very supportive, she inspires me to achieve a lot, and I am grateful,” said Ibrahimova, representing the Ojag Sport club.
The young athlete noted that her idol was a member of the Azerbaijani Rhythmic Gymnastics team Arzu Jalilova.
“I was attending competitions to cheer on Arzu Jalilova, and support all Azerbaijani gymnasts. I myself have been doing gymnastics since the age of four. My mother is also a big fan of this discipline,” she said.
Ibrahimova added that during the performance she tries to focus only on her program.
“I'm trying not to be distracted, but stay focused on my performance in order to implement all the elements perfectly,” she said.
The 27th Azerbaijan Championship in Rhythmic Gymnastics is being held on March 16-17 at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. In total, 41 gymnasts from Baku Gymnastics School, Ojag Sport Club, Republican Complex Sports School representing Baku, as well as athletes from Khirdalan’s Zirve Sports Club, Sumgayit, Ganja and Mingachevir will compete in the Championship.
Winners will be determined both in apparatus finals (Ball, Hoop, Clubs, Ribbon) and in the All-Around.
