BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16. Industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan produced industrial products worth 27.4 billion manat ($16.1 billion) from January through April 2022, which is 2.7 percent more than in the same period in 2021, Trend reports with reference to country’s State Statistics Committee.
According to committee, production in oil and gas sector increased by 0.3 percent, in non-oil sector - by 15.1 percent from January through April 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.
At the same time, 74.5 percent of industrial production fell on mining sector, 21.1 percent – on manufacturing sector, 3.9 percent - on production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 0.5 percent - on water supply, purification and waste processing.
In addition, commercial oil production in Azerbaijan decreased by 3.9 percent, and commercial gas production increased by 16.5 percent from January through April 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.
Growth in production of building materials in processing industry amounted to 72.3 percent, pharmaceuticals - twice, paper and cardboard - 26.1 percent, in chemical industry - 52.2 percent, clothing - 55.4 percent, cars, trailers and semi-trailers - 2.5 times, electrical equipment - 60.8 percent, printing products - 25.2 percent, machinery and spare parts - 30.8 percent, finished metal products - 34.2 percent, metallurgical products - 27.9 percent, rubber and plastic products - 20 percent, food products - 8.5 percent, lumber and products from them - 5.8 percent.
According to committee, production in textile industry decreased by 11.2 percent, drinks - by 14.3 percent, leather and products from it - by 24.2 percent, oil products - by 7.2 percent, tobacco products - by 11.8 percent, computer and optical products - by 12.3 percent from January through April 2022 compared to same period last year.
The volume of production in sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam increased by 2.7 percent, and in sector of water supply, waste treatment and recycling - by 10.1 percent from January through April 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.
