The total revenue of hotels and hotel facilities in 2008 amounted to 138.2 million lari ($ 1 = 1.68 lari), which is 20.7 percent more than in 2007.
A total of 56 percent of the total revenue is for the use of rooms, 13 percent for restaurants, bars and other services, 1.3 percent for additional services, 0.1 percent for the maintenance of internally displaced persons, and the remaining 24.1 percent was other income.
As declared in 2008, the expenses of hotels and hotel-type facilities amounted to 147.9 million lari, which is 59 percent more than in 2007. Only 22.4 million (13.1 percent) was to payment for staff's salary, the remaining 84.9 percent (125.5 million GEL) was other expenses - utilities, repairs etc.
The average annual number of staff in hotels and hotel-type facilities in 2008 totaled 4,237 people, which is 7.1 percent higher than the previous year. 55.8 percent of the total number of employees is women.
