Businessmen of Uzbekistan and Turkey reached prospective agreements during a business forum held in Tashkent on September 30.

The event organized by Uzbekistan’s State Committee on Investments and Chamber of Commerce of Istanbul brought together ministers, heads of state and government agencies, companies and corporations of the two countries involved in the spheres of economy, investments, trade, industry, tourism, construction, energy, agriculture, food industry, chemical, metallurgical, textile and light industries, pharmaceutics and production of construction materials.

Uzbekistan called on the Turkish businessmen to do business at free economic zones established throughout the country at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and benefit the tax and customs privileges offered here. It was noted that Law on foreign investments serves as a reliable warranty for the development of the bilateral relations.

Turkish businessmen got familiar prospect of investment flow in the country, opportunities for production and refinery, textile and light industry, as well as tourism.

At present over 440 enterprises operate in Uzbekistan with the participation of Turkish investments. Trade turnover between the two countries reached $1.2 billion in 2016, with roughly 710 million accounting for the share of export of domestic products.
